About / Context
Fixed-term contract (CDD) developing tools and systems for Ubisoft’s proprietary Anvil engine. Part of a cross-production team supporting multiple AAA game titles across multiple platforms. Focused on building infrastructure for performance analysis, testing automation, and engine development workflows.
Features / Work Completed / Responsibilities
- Developed C# and C++ tools for automatic testing within the Anvil engine across multiple productions
- Built bot framework for performance analysis and benchmarking
- Implemented data editing and preparation systems for test environments
- Conducted workflow research and experimentation to optimize development pipelines
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams on engine tooling and pipeline improvements

Highlights
Gained deep insight into AAA game development tool architecture and the demands of supporting large-scale production environments. The Anvil engine is one of the industry’s most sophisticated proprietary systems, and working on its tooling layer provided valuable experience in performance-critical systems and automation at scale.
What I Learned / Personal Conclusion
This role reinforced the importance of robust tooling in game development. A well-designed tool ecosystem can dramatically improve developer velocity and engine reliability. I learned to think systematically about performance bottlenecks, automated testing strategies, and how to communicate technical requirements across production teams.
