Hello, I'm
Marc Cerutti
My passions are creating virtual worlds, automating processes, and those big red buttons that break everything. This has led me to build complex systems as a Tool / Engine Programmer in Game Development, and to explore the world of software quality as a QA Engineer / Software Tester with a strong technical background.
I'm always up for a conversation about video games creation, software quality, or systems to break in a smart way.

/ Who Am I?
A few answers to get to know who I am, how I think, and how I work.
? Who am I in a few words?
Create, Code, and Crack are my 3Cs. I am genuinely passionate about creating things — games, engines, programs, tools — about automating, and about challenging solutions. I like digging into complex problems, answering them creatively, testing the solutions I found, and exchanging with people who do the same.
? How do I like to work?
I like being part of design decisions, and working within a well-defined scope that I can understand and challenge when necessary. I investigate problems down to the root cause and share my findings, so we can build the solution together. I also like frequent feedback, positive or negative — that is what feeds me to do better.
? What drives me?
Seeing my ideas come to life in concrete, interactive software: software that gets used, gets challenged, and gives the best experience possible. I also love the good surprises that come from coworkers, the creativity that shows up when people are genuinely included. What bothers me, on the other hand, is politics and business compromises that quietly downgrade the experience or disrespect people's work.
? How do I approach a new problem?
First I make sure I know what the problem actually is: I question it, and if it is a bug, I reproduce it. Once it is well defined, I look for whether it has already been solved somewhere, in another way. Then, even with several solutions on the table, I pick one based on current needs and future plans — solving it consistently over time, within budget, time, resource and human limits, is what I find the most challenging part.
? What role do I naturally take in a team?
I prefer support roles: I multiply what a team already does well. That said, I do not mind taking initiative and driving subjects, whether as a developer, a tester, or a technical consultant — as long as the team is fine with someone who likes to automate things, stays curious about the whole process, and takes part in the discussions.
